Providing emergency financial help to those in our congregation

8th November, 2020

Greetings Church Family

There is likely to be a requirement for emergency help in most churches, due to the loss of income where jobs have been cut. For some people there may be support forthcoming from the Government schemes that are set up and running, but providing short-term help may be an entirely appropriate response for our church North Wembley Community SDA (NW) to adopt.

Since this is such a fast-movingsituation, NW has set aside a small COVID19 fund as we anticipate the needs of the congregation during this unprecedented health and financial crisis. The main criteria are that an individual has an immediate need, and their resources are insufficient to meet that need. The amount of funding is expected to be individually small and prioritisation, speed and security is important.

It may be helpful for you to cascade this information within teams, or in your NW forums.

We invite you to contact one of the church elders if you are struggling financially, so that we can calibrate a response accordingly.

Remember - The Macedonian churches. β€œin the midst of a very severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity” (2 Cor.8.2)

Blessings

Thank You

Elder Liz Reid

Local Prayer Requests

Pray for those who are being affected by the Covid-19 pandemic and facing financial hardships, health related illnesses, stress on the family and people experiencing mental health challenges. Pray for strength and comfort during this difficult time.

World Church Prayer Requests

17th September 2021

  • Pray especially for our youth as this Sabbath, September 18th, is Pathfinder Day.
  • Pray for marriagesΒ and family relationships to continue to grow stronger during these challenging times.
  • Pray for the church membership in Iceland, and for the three weeks of evangelism meetings currently taking place, that more souls will come to Jesus.
  • Pray for the Sakalava on the western coast of Madagascar. Christians make up 35% of the 1,899,000 Sakalava, but the belief of these semi-nomadic people is that God can be reached through mediums. Pray that they learn of salvation through Christ.
  • Pray for the Holy Spirit, that we as a church will be a shining light for Jesus in these unstable times. The world desperately needs hope!
